SSH (Secure Shell) est un protocole pour la création d'une connexion sécurisée entre deux ordinateurs.
La connexion sécurisée SSH fournit l'authentification et le cryptage. SSH fournit également la compression.
Le protocole SSH est défini par l'IETF Secure Shell Working Group (secsh).
SSH a été conçu comme un remplacement de l'héritage `telnet` application.
L'ordinateur doit être connecté à exécuter un démon ssh, ou un serveur, un processus.
L'ordinateur qui tente de se connecter doit exécuter un client SSH.

SCP et SFTP sont des remplacements pour l'héritage `cp` et `ftp` applications de transfert de fichier.

Il existe plusieurs implémentations de SSH gratuits disponibles. Certains soutiennent que SSH, tandis que d'autres soutiennent également le SCP et SFTP.
